Google Chrome used to be great. Then one day a new version came out and automatically updated itself onto my computer... I went to open my new tab page and...

They had 'simplified' the browser by placing a huge google search box in the middle.
When you clicked on the search bar to type something, it would type into the URL. (so what was the point in the search box in the first place??)
My eight most visited tabs were shrunk and hard to see.
They had removed the Recently Closed feature (which used to be in the bottom right of New Tabs) and replaced it with... nothing. I used the Recently Closed feature an awful lot and now I had to keep looking for it when clicking on the drop down menu.
There were various other issues and glitches, mainly basic websites like wordpress blogs I would normally visit would not load at all and the moment I clicked on a link to them, they instantly failed to load and told me "He's dead Jim".

I tried my best to adapt to it, but the new updates were completely rubbish, unnecessary and destroyed my ability to work efficiently and fast on Chrome.

In order to fix it, I had to download an older version and painstakingly remove ALL the autoupdate features.

Now the old version I'm currently using worked so much faster and was much, much easier to use than the new version.
Version 26 of Chrome is actually better than version 42!? What possessed them to screw up their browser? I don't know.

Now I am seeing similar 'simplifications' on Deviantart and I am not at all impressed with their ideas for 'simplifying' things. I really hope they don't do what Chrome did to their browser...
